Gujarat: GST Authorities Investigate Transporters’ Role In Bogus Billing Scam

GST authorities in Gujarat state have started investigating the transporters at various locations after the notice that in the bogus billing scam of several crores, transporters are involved too. In this connection, the department raided the business premises of transporters at 13 locations, out of which 10 are in Jamnagar.

92 people have been arrested so far in the multi-crore tax evasion scam perpetrated in connivance with the transport operators in Gujarat. The transporters raided are from Stuart and Valsad too apart from Jamnagar.

incriminating documents have been recovered during the raids, it is learnt. Several traders along with the transporters are said to be running this massive racket in Gujarat through bogus GST billing.

The firms whose names have come up in this connection are Shri Shanti Metal Recycling, Shanti Metal Industries, DR Trading, Active Metal, Maitri Enterprise, Ranjit Logistics, Jam Ranjit Careers etc.
