In a recent press statement, the Gujarat Government announced that its air ambulance service, operated by the state Civil Aviation Department, will soon resume operations following scheduled maintenance. However, the exact duration of the maintenance period and the anticipated date for service resumption remain unspecified.
Since May 5, 2022, the Civil Aviation Department has been providing air ambulance services to residents and non-residents of Gujarat at an affordable cost. Collaborating with GVK-EMRI, the department ensures that critical medical assistance is accessible to all.
The air ambulance fleet utilises Beechcraft-200 aircraft, equipped with essential medical gear such as doctors, paramedics, ventilators, defibrillators, oxygen cylinders and ECG monitors. This enables swift transportation of critical patients and organs between airports, ensuring timely medical intervention.
To learn more about the air ambulance service, individuals can contact the emergency number 108. So far, 42 successful medical flights have been conducted.
