The Gujarat government will procure toor(pigeon peas), chana and mustard at minimum support price.
Announcing this decision at a Press conference, the Agriculture Minister of Gujarat, Raghavji Patelurged farmers to register themselves on the government’s portal between February 1 and February 28. He said that farmers can address queries to a helpline number issued by the government.
The government-appointed Gujarat State Co-operative Marketing Federation Ltd, Ahmedabad will purchase toor from February 15 and chana and mustard from March 1, 2022.
The minister said that to make sure that farmers get the right price for their produce, the Central Government in 2021-22 announced Minimum support price of Pigeon peas(toor) at Rs 1260, Chana at the rate of Rs 1250 and mustard at the rate of Rs 1010.
The farmers had urged the Agriculture Minister to increase procurement of Chana as they were expecting a bumper crop of Chana in this winter season.
