Gujarat Government plans to allocate Rs 4,000 Crore for Rural employment, considering the rural disappointment towards government and upcoming assembly elections in 2022. The plans are intended to extend development programs to rural areas in order to boost employment in rural sector. Government plans to allot 4,000 Crore to provide employment under schemes like Prime Minister Awas Yojna, MGNREGA, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojna and Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission, said sources.
Sources added that the responsibility towards the plan has been given to Gujarat Government’s Rural Development Minister R.C. Faldu. He will be travelling to various districts of Gujarat to look at the ways of possibilities of the plan and will give its report to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. In accordance with the report, Gujarat Government will make an announcement for the schemes under the plan.
