Campaigning for the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections came to an end at 5 pm on Saturday. Polling will be held on December 5 for 93 seats in central and north Gujarat. In the second phase, including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Patidar leaders Hardik Patel, Alpesh Thakor, Jignesh Mevani, Shankar Chaudhary and many veterans are in the fray.
The significant thing is that 9 seats in Banaskantha district, 4 seats in Patan district, 7 seats in Mehsana district, 4 seats in Sabarkantha district, 3 seats in Aravalli district, 5 seats in Gandhinagar, 21 seats in Ahmedabad, 7 seats in Anand, Anand district has 6 seats. Voting will be held on 3 seats in Kheda, Mahisagar, 3 seats in Aravali, 3 seats in Panchmahal district, 6 seats in Dahod district, 10 seats in Vadodara district, 3 seats in Chhota Udaipur district.
In the second phase, polling will be held on 93 seats in 14 districts. A total of 2,51,58,730 voters will be able to vote in 93 seats. This includes 1,29,26,501 male, 1,22,31,335 female and 894 third caste voters. While in the second phase, 17,607 male and 664 female voters and 18,271 service voters will be able to exercise their franchise. After the low voting percentage in the first phase, increasing the voting percentage in the second phase is a big challenge for the political parties.
In the second phase, 505 male and 155 female 660 NRI voters will be able to exercise their franchise. In the second phase, 764 men and 69 women, a total of 833 rival candidates, contested. In the second phase, there are 8,533 polling stations in 2,904 urban polling station locations. While 17,876 polling stations are located in 12,071 rural polling stations.
In the second phase, 36,439 ballot units, 36,439 control units and 40,434 VVPATs will be used. In the second phase, 29,062 presiding officers and 84,263 polling officers will be on duty. More than one lakh officers are engaged in election work.
In the second phase, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah took the lead from the BJP. Along with the public meeting, Prime Minister Modi held a 54 kilometer long roadshow in Ahmedabad in two days. Home Minister Amit Shah also held road shows and more than 16 public meetings. While the Chief Minister of Delhi from the Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, Harbhajan Singh, Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh took the front. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and local leaders of Gujarat were seen from the Congress side.
