Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel to Inaugurate Flower Show 2025 in Ahmedabad

| Updated: January 2, 2025 20:36

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate the much-anticipated ‘Flower Show 2025’ at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad on Friday. The show, originally scheduled to commence on January 1, was postponed following the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The timings for the Flower Show have been set as 8.30 am to 9 pm for general admission. VIP visitors will have exclusive slots from 9 am to 10 am and 10 pm to 11 pm.

Ticket prices for weekdays are Rs 70, while weekend tickets are priced at Rs 100. Entry remains free for children under 12 years of age.

This year, a new concept of VIP tickets has been introduced, each priced at Rs 500. Last year, ticket prices were Rs 50 for weekdays and Rs 75 for weekends.

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), which has been organising the annual Flower Show since 2013, spent Rs 11.44 crore on the 2024 event. This year, the expenditure has risen to Rs 15 crore.

The Flower Show 2025 features unique installations, including structures shaped like a lotus, garba dancers, an Olympic torch, a peacock, and characters such as Hulk, Doraemon, and Kung Fu Panda. Special designs include Gandhiji’s three monkeys and a tribute sculpture titled ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.

A Night Flower Park has also been set up on the western side of the Sabarmati Riverfront. Spread across 4,500 square metres, it features vibrant light structures installed at a cost of Rs 3 crore. Visitors will also have the opportunity to provide feedback through a newly introduced QR system.

In addition to the Flower Show, CM Patel will inaugurate the tree census project on the same day. The AMC has awarded the contract for this task to SAAR IT Resources Pvt Ltd, which will be paid Rs 8 per tree counted. The last tree census, conducted in 2012, recorded 6,18,000 trees in Ahmedabad with a green cover of 4.66%.
