The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Amit Thaker who represents the Vejalpur constituency in Ahmedabad made an environmentally conscious entrance to the Gujarat state assembly by riding on an electric two-wheeler from his government quarters in Gandhinagar on the first day of the state budget.
Amit Thakar shared the video on his facebook account , he stated, “Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has been recognized as a global ‘Champion of the Earth’. With his unwavering determination, the country aims to achieve maximum utilization of renewable energy by 2030. In keeping with this environmentally friendly approach, I arrived at the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha on the first day of the budget session, riding a battery-operated scooter.
The Gujarat legislative assembly’s budget session will begin on Thursday in Gandhinagar, and finance minister Kanubhai Desai will present the state budget for 2023-24 on Friday. The budget session will start on Thursday and end on March 29.
This would be the state’s first budget following the December 2022 Assembly elections, where the BJP held power with a commanding majority and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was elected for a second term.
In a meeting on Wednesday, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) addressed the Assembly’s comprehensive programme for the more than three-week-long session, according to an official statement.
Many key legislations are expected to be passed by the state assembly during the budget session and bills likely to be introduced in the assembly.
