Three Pakistani fishermen were detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday, from a creek area close to the India-Pakistan border off the Kutch district coast in Gujarat, and their boat was confiscated.
According to the BSF statement, the fishermen were on Indian territory in Sir Creek.
They were identified as Karachi residents; Sayed Gulam Murtaja (65), Bashir Zavad (60), and Akbar Ali Abdul Gani (54).
They informed the BSF personnel that their boat’s engine failed, and because of the high tide and strong winds, the boat drifted, they unintentionally reached the Indian side of Sir Creek, according to the statement.
It noted that neither their boat, nor their possessions, contained anything unusual.
