Talk about irony. BJP vice-president Jagrutiben Pathak was involved in an accident in Vadodara, involving cattle, on Friday evening. She needed four stitches for her head injury.
Pathak, a resident of Harinagar Vinayak Society in Ward 11, was returning from the ward office on Friday evening. At the Clock Circle crossroad, she was knocked over by a herd of cows approaching the Swaminarayan temple. Unconscious with a head injury, she was rushed to a hospital at Undera where she required four stitches for the wound.
The Gotri police have registered a case of attempted murder under section 308 of the IPC against the herdsman.
In October, mayor Keyur Rokadia had directed police commissioner Shamsher Singh to register cases of attempted murder against herdsman responsible for stray cattle, a supposed menace in the city, causing accidents.
Since 2018, over 25 complaints have been registered against owners of stray cattle under Section 308. The city police usually register accident cases of this nature under Sections 289 and 90A.
According to a source, 37 complaints have been registered in October, 91 in November and six so far in December since the mayor’s announcement.
