The King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, is expected to arrive at Vadodara Airport via the first direct international flight from Bhutan on Monday, July 22. This is the first foreign flight to land in Vadodara with a state guest on board.
The king is scheduled to arrive at Vadodara Airport on Monday at noon and pay a visit to the Statue of Unity. He will return to Bhutan on July 24, with a direct flight slated for his departure.
The purpose of the King’s visit has not been made public due to security concerns. Authorities at the airport affirmed that the arrival of this international flight has not resulted in the rescheduling of any other flights.
The Customs and Immigration Department visited Vadodara Airport on Saturday to prepare for the flight and carry out a technical inspection.
