Ahmedabad-based IRS officer Vijay Kumar Singh has successfully finished the world’s oldest annual marathon and road racing event – Boston Marathon by clocking 3.14.30 hours.
By running at a dizzying 14kmph speed for 185 mins, Singh not only becomes the first Indian but also the first person to do so from Gujarat.
Ritesh Misra, an IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax Department took to Twitter congratulating Singh on the historic feat.
Singh, who is posted with the Income Tax department in Ahmedabad stated that after achieving the longtime dream of running the Boston Marathon, his next target is to run the Comrades Marathon 89 km and complete it within 9 hours.
