The Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) said on Friday that the suspects had intended to smuggle narcotics but threw the shipment in the sea when they were startled, only days after seven Pakistani nationals were detained on a boat in Indian waters off Gujarat’s coast.
The Gujarat ATS and the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) seized seven Pakistani nationals from a boat off the coast of Gujarat near Kutch on May 31 for allegedly unlawfully entering Indian waters. The boat, named Al Nouman, was carried to the Okha coast in Devbhoomi Dwarka, where the suspects were detained for illegally entering Indian seas under the Foreigner’s Act. According to Gujarat ATS officials, no narcotics were discovered in the boat.
Mohammad Akram Baloch, Zubair Baloch, Ishaq Baloch, Shaeed Ali Baloch, Ashraf Baloch, Shoaib Baloch, and Shehzad Baloch were the seven people arrested. According to ATS officials, the seven Pakistani nationals left on a boat from Gwadar port in Pakistan’s Baloch province.
