The Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) apprehended an individual from Porbandar, who is suspected of spying for Pakistan. The accused is believed to have been involved in espionage activities, allegedly transmitting sensitive information to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.
The arrest was confirmed by Gujarat ATS DySP SL Chaudhary, who stated, “Our team, led by Police Inspector Piyush Desai, received a tip-off about a local fisherman, identified as Jatin Charaniya. Charaniya was reportedly sending information to a Pakistan-operated social media account, known as ‘Advika Prince’.”
The ATS team meticulously monitored Charaniya’s social media activities and financial transactions, gathering substantial evidence against him. Following this, a case was registered at the ATS Police Station under IPC sections 121 and 120. It was revealed that Charaniya had received a sum of Rs. 6,000 through various channels.
Chaudhary further added, “Charaniya maintained contact with a Pakistan Intelligence operative, known as ‘Advika Prince’, using social media platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp.”
Investigations have revealed that the accused was leveraging social media to transfer classified data about Gujarat and India to Pakistan. The police have initiated further investigations into the matter.
