The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) have seized approximately 173 kg of narcotics off the Gujarat coast. This is the second such operation within a span of just 24 hours. The law enforcement agencies apprehended two individuals from the sea off the Porbandar coast along with the drugs.
The seized narcotics, believed to be Hashish, are estimated to be worth 60 crore rupees. The two arrested individuals are reportedly of Indian origin who had traveled to Pakistan to smuggle the drugs into the country.
This operation follows a major drug bust by the ATS, ICG, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday. In that operation, the agencies had seized 86 kg of drugs valued at a staggering Rs. 600 crore and had apprehended 14 Pakistani crew members.
