Situation in Deesa town in Banaskantha district of Gujarat turned hostile and police had to resort to the lathi charge after thousands of Hindus gathered to protest against a case of “Love Jihad” in the sleepy town.
The situation turned hostels after BJP MLA Shashikant Desai addressed the gathering calling for “drastic action against those who attempt to harm our Hindu religion”.
Police had to resort to lathi-charge after the crowd refused to disperse.
Deesa town observed a bandh to protest against a Hindu girl Kajal( name changed) who fell in love and married a Muslim.
The situation took a turn for worse when her father, Haresh Solanki attached suicide to operate her daughter’s action. According to Haresh, he was depressed after her daughter married a Muslim youth, Ejaz Sheikh. After constant quarrels over the religious differences, the daughter cut off ties with her father. Her brother and mother also severed types with Haresh Solanki and came to live with Kajal and her husband.
According to Haresh, his wife, son and daughter were brainwashed by Ejaz and they had converted to Islam. He said this was a case of triple Love Jihad.
Ejaz’s family members told Vibes of India that the two youngsters had fallen in love but the police have arrested Ejaz and they are harassing the family alleging Love Jihad.
Bajrang Dal was supporting the fight against Love Jihad, Harsh Solanki added. The local BJP and Bajrang Dal organised a Bandh which was a complete success in Deesa.
