The Chiripal Group has once again come under the radar of Gujarat Police. Danilimda Police have seized more than 650 bags of fertilizer from two different places and registered a complaint against a total of six accused from the Chiripal Group. The accused were supplying the fertilizer to a private factory.
Chiripal Group is headquartered in Satellite, Ahmedabad. Dipesh Sheth is the president of the Group.
The police have launched an investigation into the farmers from the Nimcoated Urea Godown and the factory. They have arrested two people in the case, namely Vikramsinh Rana and Harpalsinh. They have also registered a complaint against a woman named Bina. The rest are currently absconding.
The government already had issued guidelines for the purchase of chemical fertilizers. As per the guidelines, the farmer has to provide biometric details and a Aadhaar card to purchase the same. However, the urea fertilizers recovered from the accused were obtained without a bill.
However, the interrogation of the accused may also reveal the names of other accused and the urea fertilizer scam.
Earlier, six workers were burnt to death in a fiery fire at the Nandan Denim factory of the Chiripal Group in Narol. Despite the frequent occurrence of fire incidents in the company, no action was taken. As a result, the family members of the deceased workers had a great uproar.
