In a bid to address the ongoing protests by Kshatriya organizations, a high-level meeting was convened at the residence of Gujarat BJP President CR Patil in Gandhinagar. The meeting, which lasted for about three hours, saw the participation of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat BJP General Secretary (Organization), Balwantsinh Rajput, Kesridevsinh Jhala, IK Jadeja, Bhupendrasinh Jadeja, Mahendrasinh and other Kshatriya leaders of the party.
Patil announced that a subsequent meeting with 92 members of the Coordination Committee of Kshatriya organizations is scheduled for 3 PM tomorrow, likely to be held at Gota.
In a media briefing, Patil extended an apology to the Kshatriya community and appealed for calm. He acknowledged the community’s long-standing support for the BJP and assured that the party is committed to finding a speedy resolution to the current issue.
Patil also recognized the lingering anger within the Kshatriya community, despite multiple apologies from Parshottam Rupala. He urged the community to forgive Rupala, who had made a remark about the Maharajas in the Ghulami period having Roti-Beti relations with oppressors of other faith. Patil confirmed that party leaders will reach out to the leaders of the Kshatriya community, with responsibilities assigned to various leaders.
It’s noteworthy that Rupala’s comment has led to demands from various Kshatriya community outfits for a change of candidate on the Rajkot Lok Sabha seat. Despite Rupala’s subsequent apologies, the demand for his replacement persists.
