Shamshera, the upcoming film, whose campaigning begins next week, shall observe Ranbir Kapoor back at the screen after a respite of 4 years. The newlywed star was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju in 2018.
Merely hours after the poster of the film leaked online, Karan Malhotra, the film’s director reacted to the event. In a recent interview, Karan has shared that he is glad that Ranbir’s fans are loving his new look.
He said that they had planned to campaign for the movie from next week, but it seems the fans could not wait and he does not blame them! After all, Ranbir is returning to the cinema after a hiatus of 4 years! He further added that they had planned for everything to be synchronized, but the Universe can’t be controlled and is always on time. Incidents like the leaking of the poster are exemplary of that. Anyway, he was just happy that the fans agreed with the new look of Ranbir Kapoor.
The poster reveals RK in a rugged, rough look with long hair and beard. His face is serious and he is seen posing with an ax. He will be seen as a savage, fierce dacoit in the film. The movie is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, in which a warrior tribe is imprisoned and tortured by Shudh Singh. It is a story of a man who grows into a leader from a slave, and ends as a legend for his tribe. He fights incessantly for his tribe’s freedom and integrity. Directed by Karan, Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film will release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil on July 22, 2022.
