Rajkot, India: A sudden and reckless maneuver by a truck driver on Thursday morning led to a horrific accident near Maliyasan on the outskirts of Rajkot, claiming the lives of four innocent people. The tragedy unfolded on the busy Rajkot-Ahmedabad national highway, leaving a trail of grief and devastation.
The accident occurred when the driver of a large truck, attempting to take a turn onto a service road, abruptly applied brakes after overtaking two cars. This sudden stop caused a chain reaction, with the two cars braking hard and a mini-truck approaching from behind unable to react in time. The mini-truck slammed into the rear of the second car, causing a horrific collision.
The impact was so intense that both cars were crushed between the two trucks. Firefighters were called in to extricate the victims trapped in the mangled vehicles. Sadly, four lives were lost in the accident:
- Hiren Sagpariya (45): Owned and operated an auto garage.
- Parth Solanki (20): A student at a private university in Rajkot.
- Hemendrasinh Jadeja (46): Worked at a car showroom in Gondal Chokdi and was a father of two daughters.
- Raju Parmar (40): Profession not mentioned in the report.
Four others, including Parth’s father Bharat and friend Nikhil, were injured and are receiving treatment at Rajkot Civil Hospital.
Adding to the tragedy, both truck drivers fled the scene after the accident, prompting the Kuvadva road police to register cases against them.
This incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of following traffic rules. It serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the devastating consequences that can arise from a moment of carelessness on the road.
