Kanti Sodha Parmar, a former legislator from Central Gujarat’s Anand assembly seat, joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today at the state party headquarters in Shri Kamalam.
Parmar had previously resigned as a state delegate and primary member of the Congress party. Parmar is a director of the AMUL district milk cooperative federation, so his joining the BJP is significant in that regard as well. He has significance in his community across the districts of Anand, Kheda, and Mahisagar.
Kanti Sodha Parmar was elected MLA from Anand in 2017. However, he lost to Yogesh Patel of the BJP in the 2022 elections. It is worth mentioning that earlier in 2020, there were also speculations about Kanti Sodha Parmar leaving Congress.
