The Forest Department successfully captured a violent lioness that had attacked three residents of Vavera village in Rajula taluka on Friday. The lioness was finally subdued after a grueling 10-hour operation.
The lioness, exhibiting aggressive behaviour, attacked Washrambhai Solanki and Manjuben Solanki, both residents of Vavera village, on Friday morning. The victims were immediately rushed to Rajula Hospital in a critical condition.
Upon receiving the news of the incident, ACF Vaghela and RFO Yograjsingh Rathore, along with their team, promptly arrived at the scene. Given the severity of the situation, the entire area was cordoned off as the search and rescue operation commenced.
However, the lioness struck again in the evening, attacking a young man named Dinesh Sankhat near Dhatarwadi Dam. Sankhat was swiftly transported to Rajula government hospital via an ambulance for immediate medical attention.
After an intense 10-hour operation involving officials from multiple ranges, the lioness was finally located. The veterinary doctors on the team administered a tranquilizer, rendering the lioness unconscious. The Forest Department then successfully caged the lioness, which has since been transferred to the Animal Care Centre for a thorough medical examination.
