The National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Wednesday protested against the decision of the Gujarat University administration to conduct the exams for Semesters 2, 4 and 6, when some programs had just completed exams of Semesters 1, 3 and 5.
Speaking to VoI NSUI leader, Karan Modi said, “How can the University declare next semester exams for programs of B.Com, M.Com, LLB and LLM? They have a 6-month semester and only one month has been completed.”
NSUI submitted a letter to the University Registrar to withdraw the declared exams within 48 hours.
“If necessary actions are not taken, then NSUI will coordinate with the students of 24 colleges in Ahmedabad under Gujarat University, and hold a huge protest for conducting these exams without finishing the syllabus,” Modi added.
A second-semester LLB student of Maneklal Nanavati Law College told VoI that the syllabus is pending, as it had only just started. “Have we paid full fees for this?” the student questioned.
NSUI has submitted a letter about the same concern to the University.
