Filming for The Batman Part II, starring Robert Pattinson, is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025. While specific plot details remain undisclosed, Pattinson assured fans that the highly anticipated sequel will be “cool.”
During the London premiere of his upcoming film Mickey 17, Pattinson briefly addressed the project. “It’s cool, though, it’s cool,” he told a section of the media. He also commented on the delayed production schedule, stating, “It’s a while… everything feels so long ago because Covid just erased three years.”
Warner Bros recently postponed the release date of The Batman Part II from October 2, 2026, to October 1, 2027. Director Matt Reeves previously confirmed at the Golden Globes that filming is expected to commence in 2025.
The sequel was officially announced at CinemaCon in April 2022, with both Pattinson and Reeves returning. Mattson Tomlin will co-write the screenplay. Returning cast members are expected to include Pattinson, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, and Colin Farrell.
Serkis, who portrays Alfred Pennyworth, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “I am as hungry for it as you all are. Matt Reeves told me the story of The Batman 2, and I was so excited for it,” he said.
Reeves has indicated that the sequel will build on the first film’s narrative in a way that will surprise audiences. “We’re doing something that continues where the story came from, and something I hope people are really surprised by,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Pattinson is also set to begin filming for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Odyssey movie, according to a news outlet.
