Hyderabad-based leading fashion designer Pratyusha Garimella committed suicide at her residence in Banjara Hills, Saturday. On receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted Prathyusha’s body to Osmania General Hospital. A bottle of carbon monoxide was recovered. It is suspected that she died after inhaling the toxic gas.
Subsequently, a case has been registered for suspicious death. The reasons behind the suicide are not known. She was ranked among the top 30 fashion designers in the country.
Prathyusha, 35, stayed in a house in Film Nagar in the Banjara Hills police station limits. On Saturday afternoon, when she did not respond to security checks, the guards alerted the police . After breaking open the door , the police went inside and found her body in the bathroom. A bottle of chemicals was also recovered from the washroom, the police briefed mediapersons.
In recent times, the Bengali film industry has been under the scanner after three model-turned-actresses Pallavi Dey, Bidisha De Majumder and Manjusha Niyogi died ended their lives.
