In today’s world, achieving flawless skin is a dream for many. With numerous skincare products available in the market, people are always searching for the best solution to maintain youthful skin.
However, what if we told you that the secret to radiant skin lies in a simple, age-old practice called facial yoga? Here are three basic facial yoga poses that give you the perfect morning glow.
Facial yoga is an easy, non-invasive technique that involves massaging or tapping specific points on your face to stimulate facial muscles and improve blood flow, resulting in a brighter complexion. According to a 2018 study, facial “yoga” can enhance the look of your skin and rejuvenate the ageing face by strengthening underlying muscles.
There are two crucial ways that facial yoga can help maintain healthy skin. Firstly, as we age, the muscles in our faces start to weaken. By practising facial yoga, we can strengthen these muscles and keep our skin firm. Secondly, it improves blood circulation, which gives the skin a healthy glow and makes it appear youthful.
Malaika Arora, an actor and fitness enthusiast, has been motivating her followers to adopt a holistic approach to wellness. Recently, she shared three facial yoga poses on Instagram for achieving glowing skin. The best part about facial yoga is that it does not require a lot of time or effort. Just 15 minutes of daily practice can yield remarkable results.
Let’s take a look at the three facial yoga poses:
Pufferfish face – Inhale as much air as possible through your mouth and fill out your cheeks. Hold it in for a few seconds and then blow it out as quickly as possible from one side to the other. Practising this exercise daily can help achieve brighter skin and fuller cheeks.
Simple tapping pose – This technique, popular in Korean skincare, involves lightly tapping your entire face with your fingertips. It improves blood circulation and gives the skin a healthy glow. You can also try it while applying moisturizer.
The big ‘O’ – Open your eyes, straighten your back, and make an “O” shape with your lips. Hold this pose for as long as you can, gradually increasing the duration from 10 seconds to 30 seconds. This exercise can boost blood flow and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
In addition to facial yoga, adopting a cleaner and greener diet can also help achieve radiant skin. Include more fruits, salads, natural juices, lentils, and leafy vegetables in your diet to nourish your skin from the inside out.
