Telugu cinema star Allu Arjun on Sunday urged his fans to refrain from using abusive language or engaging in inappropriate behaviour, both online and offline, following fresh allegations against him in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case.
In a stampede-like scenario at the Hyderabad cinema theatre on December 4, thousands of fans struggled for a sight of the actor during the premiere of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman and the injuries of her eight-year-old son.
Arjun challenged the accusation made by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday that he went to the theatre during the film’s screening without police approval.
On Sunday, Arjun issued an advisory to his fans. “I appeal to all my fans to express their feelings responsibly, as always and not resort to any kind of abusive language or behaviour both online and offline,” he said in a statement posted on X.
Saying further on the matter, he said, “Misrepresenting as my fans with fake IDs and fake profiles, if someone indulges in abusive posts, strong action will be taken against them. I request the fans not to engage with such posts.”
