Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal to prove his affection for his late wife. However, Bharatbhai’s actions to keep his love alive are beyond praise. After all, the best way to remember someone is by giving someone else a better life.
Late Geetaben, a resident of Kamrej in Surat, proved that death, a sorrowful moment, can give somebody else joy. After the 46-year-old met with a road accident, her husband, Bharatbhai Parmar, gave new life to four families by donating her eyes and kidneys.
Geetaben was returning to her house from her sister’s place on a motorcycle with her son. But, due to dizziness, she fell from the moving vehicle, leading to a severe head injury. Immediately, her son took her to the nearby GB Vaghani hospital for treatment.
The CT scan revealed that her brain underwent a hemorrhage. Then, the doctor performed a craniotomy and removed the blood clot from the brain. Later, Dr. Kalpesh Chopra treated her in Kiran Hospital. On June 16, Neuro physician Dr. Heena Faldu, Intensivist Dr. Apeksha Parekh, Physician Dr. Kalpesh Chopra, and Medical Director Dr. Mehul Panchal declared Geetaben brain dead.
After her death, her husband contacted Donate Life and decided to donate his wife’s organs. Her kidney and liver went to Kiran Hospital, Surat.
