Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari has ordered Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi Government to prove majority on the floor of the house. According to the letter, The Vidhan Bhavan Secretary has been instructed to call a special session for the floor test on June 30 at 11 am.
The Governor mandated that the trust vote proceedings in the Maharashtra legislature be finished by 5 p.m. tomorrow and that the sessions be videotaped.
Governor Koshyari stated in his letter that the current political situation in Maharashtra “paints a very alarming picture.” He referenced rumours claiming that 39 MLAs wanted out of the MVA government and that seven independent MLAs had also sent an email withdrawing their support.
- According to sources Uddhav Thackeray led MVA might move Supreme Court against Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari’s order.
- If the floor test happens tomorrow three of the NCP MLAs won’t be able to take part in it as two are in the judicial custody and Deputy Chief Minister in MVA Government is down with Covid.
- Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has confirmed participation in the floor test. He said, “We will go to Mumbai tomorrow and participate in the floor test.”
