The murder mystery of the chopped torso, which was found on July 20, in Vasna, Gujarat, saw some progress as chopped legs of allegedly the same person were found outside a residential colony near Parimal garden.
Now, the entire case is about to be cracked, it seems, say the city cops.
CCTV footage has been found which shows a middle-aged man with a heavy bag, dragging and loading it into the leg space of his scooter. He is suspected of killing his own son and chopping up his body in a gross way to hide the crime. The suspect is a resident of Bhudarpura Road, and he had reportedly disappeared on the day of the crime. His son is also missing. The suspect is a retired government employee.
The cops have not commented anything upon the possible arrest, but multiple teams of city crime branch and police stations were curated to look for the accused in this gory crime.
The first breakthrough that the police found was discovering the CCTVs from near the crime scene that showed two-wheeler which is suspected to be the same vehicle that was used to dispose off the chopped body.
From the registration number of the vehicle, the team could find out the address of the accused. A society on Bhudaepura road has been identified as the alleged accused’s residence. Reaching the location it was found that the house was locked.
CCTV from near the residence showed an elderly man carrying a heavy package and putting it on his vehicle. Cops believe that the two events are interlinked, as the vehicles in both footage are similar.
A relative of the father-son duo had came searching for them, and broke the lock in the process. Sources reveal that the flat had blood stains.
Officials say that a DNA test will be taken to confirm that the legs and the body are of the same person. Confusion regarding the murder weapon and motive still remains. The suspect will be questioned regarding the same, once the police gets hold of him.
