New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate on February 6 conducted searches at premises connected to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, an Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, N.D. Gupta, and other leaders associated with the party.
This is the latest in the central agencies long list of action against leaders and figures in opposition to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
Former Delhi Jal Board (DJB) member Shalabh Kumar’s premises were also part of the 12 locations searched, according to reports.
MP Gupta doubles as treasurer for AAP – senior leaders of which, including former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and health minister Satyendar Jain, have been particularly targeted by central agencies.
The money laundering case in which the ED conducted the latest searches pertains to alleged irregularities in the tendering process of the DJB, India Today has reported. The ED investigation takes off from two cases filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi government, the report says.
