In a joint operation by the Revenue Intelligence and Narcotics Control Bureau, drugs worth Rs 2500/- crores were seized from Mundra port. The drug was found in two containers and the amount could go up. Investigations stress still going on, as per sources.
According to preliminary investigations carried out, sources from Gandhidham-based Revenue Intelligence office said that a company from Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh made a mis-declaration of talcum powder and has smuggled the drug into India, worth crores of rupees.
The ship was loaded from the Iranian port of Abbas with the intention of exporting it to India. Good belonged to a company by the name Hassan Hussain, originally from Kandahar in Afghanistan, revealed sources.
A joint investigation was being carried out at Mundra port and other places of Kutch by DRI and NCB. Forensic investigation has revealed that there is heroin in talcum powder, hidden in 38 bags.If here say has it, there is a probability of a big name involved in the scandal from Mumbai and Chennai.
