Stylish clicks of the Stanford University graduate now doing the rounds show her stealing the limelight at the recently-held Met Gala 2023. Dressed in a dazzling black saree-inspired gown, the diva looked stunning at Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 1 EST (May 2 for India).
The Gala is popularly regarded as the world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion event and as “fashion’s biggest night” and the invitation is highly sought after. Organised by Vogue, it is a ball that takes place each year on the first Monday of May, with celebrities dressed in their most glamorous outfits for the extravagant event at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
A ticket to the Met Gala, which is by invite only, is hard to come by. A single ticket costs some $50,000 though designers may opt to buy an entire table for at least $300,000. This year’s theme centres around the late Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019.
However, this is not the first time Isha Ambani has attended the Met Gala? The diva’s Met Gala debut was in 2017, and thereon in 2019.
Isha’s sartorial pick for 2023’s biggest fashion night was a satin black saree-gown by Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung. The ensemble, a perfect confluence of her traditional roots and Western glam, was adorned with pearls and sparkling accents. She completed the look with an assemblage of statement diamond jewels, comprising layered necklaces, earrings, an ogle-worthy ring and a delicate bracelet. The cynosure of her look was the Chanel doll bag she carried.
In 2019 too, Isha relied on designer Prabal Gurung. The diva exuded sartorial vibes in a voluminous lilac gown featuring a plunging neckline and feather trims at the coveted fashion event. Her tresses, kept open in subtle waves, complemented her soft princess glam.
Back in 2017, Isha’s debut at the event, was in a Christian Dior gown punctuated with pearls and leafy embellishments. Minimal makeup and loose, long locks were her glam picks for the event.
