Drake paid tribute to late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala on the first episode of his SiriusXM radio show ‘Table for One,’ playing the slain singer’s hit songs.
The rapper had previously posted on Instagram Story about the Punjabi singer’s death, writing “RIP Moose.”
According to HipHopNMore, Moosewala’s singles ‘295’, which recently found a spot on the Billboard Global 200 charts and appeared on the top three spot on YouTube’s Global Music Video chart, and ‘G-Sh*t’ were featured on the episode.
Moosewala’s other single, ‘The Last Ride,’ has climbed to the sixth position on the chart. On YouTube, the video has received over 73 million views.
Background of Sidhu Moosewala:
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moosewala, was born into a farmer’s family in Mansa’s Moosa village. The 28-year-old electrical engineer graduated in 2016 from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College in Ludhiana, but moved to Canada, where his first song was released in early 2017.
Moosewala’s father, Balkaur Singh, is a retired government employee and farmer, and his mother, Charan Kaur, is the Moosa village sarpanch. She won the election by 600 votes in December 2018.
Sidhu Moosewala, a Congress leader and well-known Punjabi singer, was assassinated on May 29 in Punjab’s Mansa district. The incident occurred a day after state police removed his security.
