Citing” harassment “and “exploitation” of bureaucrats from finance and health departments and in pursuit of their pending issues, doctors in Gujarat have decided to stage protest from today.
The doctors, united under a forum consisting of six government medical colleges, doctors working with the eight medical colleges under the Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS), Gujarat In-Service Doctor’s Association, Gujarat Medical Service Class-II Association and other two, have decided to mark protest by sporting black ribbon today.
Finding fault with the bureaucrats, the Doctors have said that the resolutions passed by the state government are not implemented. Earlier this year too, teachers of medical colleges went on strike which was called off after intervention of the then home minister of Gujarat Pradipsinh Jadeja.
Doctors’ stir include plan for taking out rallies in six cities of Gujarat including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar on 4th December. A memorandum about the pending issues and protest plan was already submitted to the Chief Minister and Health Minister given by the Doctors’ body.
