It was ultimately left to the Gujarat High Court for bringing in a sense of sanity in the bizarre case of social anomaly where a Doctor couple, who had decided to part ways within seven days of their forced marriage had to undergo the agony of remaining married for 10 long years.
The Gynecologist man and Ophthalmologist woman were married in 2009 under emotional pressure from family. However, within seven days of being together, they decided to file for divorce in the family court as both thought themselves to be not compatible with each other.

As per rules, they had to remain together for one year to explore any chances of reconciliation. Including that one year and nine more years lost in the indecision, the couple could get relief only after the High Court bench comprising of Justice J B Pardiwala and Justice Niral Mehta advised the counsels of both the parties to expedite taking the final call within ten days., looking to the young age of both the parties. The hearing will be resumed in January 2022.
