Actor Divya Khosla took aim at Alia Bhatt, accusing her of falsifying the box office figures for her latest movie, Jigra.
Divya claimed that Alia bought tickets to her own film and reported ‘false earnings’ to mislead the public.
On Saturday, Divya criticised Alia on her Instagram Stories by posting a photo of an empty cinema and questioning the movie’s stated box office numbers.
“Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty…all theaters going empty everywhere. #Aliabhatt mein sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai.. khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #weshdnotfooltheaudience #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra,” the post read.
The Vasan Bala film took in Rs 4.55 crore on its first day of release in India, according to trade expert Taran Adarsh.
Jigra was up against Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, which did better at the box office than Alia’s movie.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video generated Rs 5.71 crore on Friday. Jigra reportedly became Alia’s worst opening since Highway (2014), her second major movie.
