Currently touring India with his Dil-Luminati Tour, Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh delivered a memorable performance in his hometown, Chandigarh, on Saturday.
The singer got emotional as he reflected on performing on home soil and dedicated the entire concert to Gukesh Dommaraju, the newly crowned International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Champion.
However, the evening’s standout moment came when Diljit recreated a famous scene from Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, giving a shoutout to the actor. Although the singer-actor admitted he had yet to watch Pushpa 2, he still performed the iconic “Jhukega nahi” dialogue on stage.
At every performance, Diljit engages with his fans and provides them with some very unforgettable memories. “Today, the dhol beats will reach the moon, because the Gabru has come to Chandigarh to leave a strong imprint,” Diljit stated in a widely shared video from his Chandigarh event.
“’Punjabi aa gaye oye‘, I keep saying this around the world. I even used this line on Coachella, the largest stage in the world, but it would be a shame if I did not say it in my hometown. I dedicate the concert today to D Gukesh, the world chess champion. He never gave up until he achieved his goal of being a world champion. Everybody encounters challenges. I do, too. But he persisted,” he said.
He additionally addresses Allu Arjun’s popular Pushpa series in the video.
“I’ve seen Pushpa’s first part. One of its well-known lines is “Jhukega nahi saala (wont bow).” Why would the jija bow if the saala doesn’t? This will be your greatest night, so enjoy yourself to the fullest,” he said.
Fans showered their beloved actor-singer and star performer with love and gratitude in the comments section.
To express their support for the Amar Singh Chamkila actor, a number of other fans and internet users left heart emojis in the comment section.
