Ahmedabad: Dhyan Patel and Ashvi Singh won the open and girls sections respectively at the Gujarat State U-9 Inter-School Chess Tournament for National-2024 on Sunday. Dhyan scored 6.5 points. He was followed by Arham Turakhia (6.5), Ayansh Doria (6), Mansh Krunal Ukani and Jay Mehta (5.5 points each). Ashvi scored six points and finished far ahead of the rest — Roshika B (5 points), Aarini Singh and Ayansh Bhengade (4.5 each) and Anushi Pandit (4).
The top two players from each category will represent Gujarat in the National tournament in Bihar.
