A viral video of Indian cricket icon MS Dhoni playing Candy Crush on his tablet aboard an IndiGo flight has resulted in over 30 lac people downloading the game.
The video which has been shared by millions of people shows an air hostess offering chocolates to the cricketing legend. Dhoni’s tablet shows the Candy Crush game. The video first went viral on Twitter. Even as some Twitterati argued that it was Pet Rescue Saga that Dhoni was playing and not Candy Crush; it was a tad too late.
Candy Crush’s Twitter page thanked Dhoni for trending the game.

As his team mates vouch, Dhoni is not just good at cricket but he is an avid fan of video games. Dhoni enjoys playing Call of Duty, FIFA, and PUBG. In The Ranveer Show on YouTube, Indian bowler Ishant Sharma revealed, “We all carry PlayStations wherever we go. Mahi bhai loves playing online/video games like Call of Duty and he’s quite fond of PubG.”
Earlier this month, the former India captain successfully underwent left knee surgery in a Mumbai hospital.
Under Dhoni’s captaincy, India has won the top prize in all formats: topping the Test rankings for 18 months starting December 2009, the 50-over World Cup in 2011, and the World T20 on his captaincy debut in 2007.
Dhoni has been the face of the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He became so deeply associated with the city that he even became a co-owner of a Chennai-based football franchise.
In 2020, Dhoni made a big announcement – on Instagram. He was retiring from all international cricket. He is the recipient of Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year (2008 and 2009), ICC Award for Spirit of Cricket (2011), etc.
