Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, forwarded the names of two party leaders to Lt. Governor V.K. Saxena for their appointment to the cabinet, following the resignation of Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ministers who are currently imprisoned.
According to a source, CM Kejriwal has suggested L-G Saxena induct party MLAs Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj into the cabinet. Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain’s positions in the Delhi Cabinet are expected to be filled by Atishi and Bharadwaj.
On Wednesday, Delhi Lt. Governor Saxena recommended the resignations to President Droupadi Murmu, in response to a request from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to accept the resignations of ministers who resigned on Tuesday.
Eight of the 18 departments under Sisodia’s leadership, including Finance and PWD, have been delegated to Kailash Gahlot, while Raaj Kumar Anand is currently in charge of the
remaining ten, including Education and Health, until the appointment of new cabinet members.
