Actor and comedian Vir Das has been announced as the host of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which is set to take place on November 25 in New York. He said that it is a thrilling and personal moment for him.
Expressing his delight, Vir said: “Returning to the International Emmy Awards, this time as the host, is a deeply personal and exhilarating moment for me. The Emmys have always been a beacon of excellence and a celebration of diverse stories from around the world.”
“I feel a profound connection to this event and am incredibly honoured to play a central role in it. I look forward to celebrating the remarkable achievements of my peers and bringing a touch of humour and joy to this prestigious night,” he added after winning the International Emmy for his show “Landing.”
Recently, Vir starred in ‘Call Me Bae’ as an over-confident news channel journalist. Colin D’Cunha is the director of the comedy-drama show. Ananya Panday, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur are also featured in the series.
The eight-part series ‘Call Me Bae’ tells the tale of Bae, who finds that her street smarts and sense of style are more important than her diamonds after being reduced from heiress to hustler. She finds love, friends, and her better self while navigating Mumbai’s newsrooms while being broke but not giving up.
In addition, Vir is getting ready to shoot his next special in Mumbai this October. It will be held at the famous NSCI dome, which can accommodate up to 5000 people.
