Padmavat actor Deepika Padukone was spotted with her father, former badminton champion Prakash Padukone at Lord Venkateswara Temple early Friday morning. June 10 is special since it rings in Prakash’s birthday. The father-daughter’s appearance on was to solicit blessings for the year ahead, reportedly an annual ritual. The priest gifted each a symbolic purple stole.
The Piku actor wore a gorgeous embroidered white salwar-kameez and a matching mask. Her traditional avatar exuded modesty and simplicity with the purple stole draped.
It may be recalled that newly-weds Deepika and Ranveer visited the temple on their first wedding anniversary. Fans still gorge on those pictures: Deepika in a rich red silk saree and Ranveer in a beige kurta-pyjama set! Both looking dapper and a couple truly made in heaven.
In recent times, Deepika has been the cynosure of all shutterbugs with her fashionista statements at Cannes. As part of the esteemed jury at the Film Festival, Deepika stole the thunder from many a Hollywood big name.
Currently, busy working on Pathaan, this film directed by Siddharth Anand, pairs her with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham in lead roles. Fans were lucky to get glimpses of a sneak peek from the sets in Spain shortly before Deepika left for Cannes.
Later next year, in September 2023, the much-hyped and currently under production Deepika-Hrithik Roshan starrer, “Fighter” will hit theatres.
