Actor Dave Bautista, known for his work in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” will have a key role in the action-comedy movie “The Killer’s Game,” which is based on a novel. Director of ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’, JJ Perry, will direct the film.
The intriguing film, according to a US-based media outlet, will premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, which is set to take place from May 16 to May 27. The film will debut as part of Lions Gate’s content lineup.
The story revolves around seasoned assassin Joe Flood, played by Dave, who orders his murder after receiving a life-threatening illness in order to avoid the suffering that will inevitably follow.
The plot twist occurs when, after ordering the murder, he realises that he was misdiagnosed and must then defend himself against an army of former colleagues who are seeking to kill him, according to a report.
“We have searched far and wide and we finally found the perfect Joe Flood in Dave Bautista, who balances compelling action and incredible comic timing better than anyone else. And with JJ Perry at the helm, we know this film will deliver the kind of wholly original and unique action that global audiences crave,” said producer Andrew Lazer.
The story was co-written by British director Simon Kinberg and director Rand Ravich, both of whom are known for their work on the ‘X-Men’ series, which had content that was both compelling and action-packed.
