Gujarat recently reported 24 fresh cases of Covid 19 in the past 24 hours and 22 patients were discharged from the hospitals. With the festive trail ending, Ahmedabad reported 42 fresh cases in the past four days. Meanwhile, people who travelled outside the state also tested positive for Covid 19.
Following the spike in cases, Ahmedabad has installed rapid testing centers near bus stands where more than 80 Covid 19 tests are being conducted per day. The police has also begun to fine an amount of Rs 1000 from the citizens who are seen without wearing face masks.
Meanwhile, in Surat, a family of five tested Covid positive after a trip from Maharashtra. The family of five includes a 67 years old man with his son and daughter-in-law and 3 year old twins. They had gone on a trip to Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. Upon return, they all tested positive for Covid 19, Surat Municipal Corporation’s medical officer informed. He further informed that the adults are fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
“After returning, the senior citizen showed mild symptoms of the viral infection and tested positive for the coronavirus on November 12,” he said.
So far, Ahmedabad has reported the highest number o cases followed by Surat and Vadodara.
Meanwhile, Valsad has reported 4 fresh cases and Banaskantha reported their first case in four months after a 11 year old tested positive in the Khorda village. Other districts including Gir Somnath, Mehsana, Tapi and Panchmahai reported one case each.
The tally for total number of cases in Gujarat currently stands at 8,26,950. With no fatalities reported in the past 24 hours, the tally remains at 10,090.
