State Health Minister Veena George on Wednesday announced relaxation of the lockdown restrictions implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The state government has announced relaxation in the rules of lockdown despite more than 20 thousand cases of Covid-19 being reported in Kerala for a week continuously. Health Minister Veena George stated that a triple lockdown will be imposed on shops in those areas where more than 10 people per 1000 population will be found infected in a week. Shops will be allowed to open six days a week and exemption will be given on Independence Day and Onam on August 22.
