Sukesh Chandrashekhar, currently lodged in Tihar jail over his alleged involvement in a Rs 200 crore ($23.9 million) money laundering case, has threatened to expose Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal following his arrest. Chandrashekhar stated that he would become an approver against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and his team.
“I will become an approver against Kejriwal and his team. I will expose him. I will make sure he is brought to task,” Chandrasekhar said. He added that all the evidence has been given and the truth has prevailed. He welcomed Kejriwal to Tihar jail when asked if he had any evidence regarding the Delhi chief minister.
Chandrashekhar’s remarks came hours after Kejriwal was remanded to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate for seven days, until March 28. Kejriwal was arrested on Thursday, March 21, in connection with the Delhi excise policy case by the central probe agency.
Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, read out her husband’s message from prison on Saturday, March 23. In the message, Kejriwal assured that he would be out soon and urged women in Delhi to trust him. He also warned of several forces within and outside India that are weakening the country and urged vigilance against them.
Chandrasekhar is accused of cheating and extortion from Aditi Singh, wife of former promoter of Religare Enterprises Shivinder Mohan Singh. He was arrested in October 2019 over his alleged role in a case related to the misappropriation of funds at Religare Finvest Ltd.
