The Congress’s Nyay Yatra, which started from Morbi on August 9, has entered in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Senior leaders including state unit president Shaktisinh Gohil, party seva dal chief Lalji Desai and MLA Jignesh Mevani are leading the yatra.
Gohil said that state-level officials and workers will march from the GPCC headquarters to Gandhi Ashram to show their solidarity for the victims of several man-made tragedies.
Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee working president Jignesh Mevani said that these incidents in the state were caused by a plot involving dishonest BJP leaders and officers.
“Due to negligence resulting out of collusion among corrupt leadership of the BJP and its chosen officers, 240 people were killed in (various accidents in) Morbi, Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Bharuch and Ahmedabad,” he said.
“We are taking out this Nyay Yatra because people do not trust ongoing investigations. Victims of Morbi bridge collapse demand that the probe be conducted by the CBI or some non-corrupt officers. We will get justice the day all the real culprits, be it IAS, IPS officers, businessmen or BJP leaders, are behind bars,” he added.
Lamba’s Reaction On Nyay Yatra and Kolkata Doctor Case
All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba raises her voice for justice during the ongoing Nyay Yatra in Gujarat. “In recent years, tragic incidents have occurred, claiming lives in the state. There is no protection. Affected families should receive justice and the guilty must be punished. Families should receive the appropriate compensation. I am pleased that the yatra is reaching Ahmedabad and I will also participate,” she told VOI.
She further highlighted a disturbing pattern of heinous crimes, including a recent case of rape and murder in Uttarakhand and another horrifying incident in Mumbai, where a three-year-old girl was raped.
“So many cases are erased from media headlines. The media was compelled to highlight this entire matter due to the nationwide doctors’ protest. We stand with them. However, on the evening of that fateful day, we learnt of another case of rape and murder from Uttarakhand. Another incident was reported from Badlapur in Mumbai, where a three-year-old girl was raped. How do these culprits gain the power to commit such cruel acts? We know that the BJP is enabling this crime. PM Narendra Modi campaigned for Prajwal Revanna and Brij Bhushan has still not been arrested,” she remarked.
