Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, there have been speculations over how the platform might get transformed. Industry experts are keeping a close what on what changes Musk might implement and how they will affect the users. Musk has repeatedly indicated that he would bring in many changes to the platform, especially regarding free speech, spam bots and exact algorithms.
In the latest, Elon Musk, through a tweet, has said that commercial and government accounts might have to pay some charge to use Twitter, although the platform will be completely free to casual users.
The clarity regarding these charges have yet to be disclosed.
However, Musk, at the Met Gala earlier this week, said that he would make Twitter much more transparent and people will have a clear understanding about how certain tweets or accounts are promoted and demoted. Insisting on right to free-speech, Musk has said that his fiercest critics are welcome to stay on Twitter, because they too have a right to free speech.
Elon Musk, often seen as an eccentric genius who is unpredictable, last month struck a deal to buy the 16-year-old micro-blogging social media platform, Twitter for $44 billion cash. It is expected that, under Musk’s leadership, the platform will soon be a changed place.
