Coldplay Adds Second Ahmedabad Concert After First Show Sells Out in Minutes

| Updated: November 17, 2024 13:03

The British rock band Coldplay announced a second concert in Ahmedabad on Saturday after tickets for their recently announced January 25, 2025 show sold out within minutes. A second concert, scheduled for the following day (January 26, 2025), was added but quickly sold out as well.

Tickets for Coldplay’s highly anticipated fourth concert in India, set to take place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, went on sale around 12 pm on Saturday. However, with enormous queues totalling hundreds of thousands, they sold out rapidly, leaving many fans disappointed.

A notification on the booking page stated, “Last few seats left for the show on January 25, 2025. A 2nd show has been added for January 26, 2025, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The queues will start at 12:45 pm today and the tickets will go live at 1 pm.”

The same tremendous demand was seen for the second concert. “I’m exhausted,” several disappointed fans said on X (formally Twitter).

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate began looking into the alleged illegal resale of tickets after Coldplay’s January 2025 performances in Mumbai quickly sold out. On ticketing platforms like Zomato Live, the concerts—which comprised two performances at DY Patil Sports Stadium on January 18 and 19, as well as a third on January 21—sold out almost immediately.

However, a large number of tickets were resold at high prices on unauthorised platforms.

The ticketing platform said in a press statement that the multiple Grammy-winning band will perform for an expected crowd of one lakh in Ahmedabad, making it one of the largest stadium shows.
