Even as Gujarat is reeling under coldwave for the last few days, the MeT department has predicted a better situation in the days to come.
Assisted by scattered rains and cyclonic trends in the Arabian sea, temperatures have plummeted to as low as 6-7 degrees in many parts of the state.
Naliya recorded the lowest temperature of 6.2 degrees on Wednesday.
However, it has been stated by the Meteorological Department that the cold will reduce from January 26.
According to the weathermen, the cold has increased in the state due to the effect of a mild cyclonic circulation. But in the next few days the temperatures are likely to rise by at least two degrees.
Usually after the holy Mahashivratri festival, the cold season abates. This time, the auspicious festival is falling on February 18, so another 15-20 days will see ups and downs in the intensity of cold, say people in the know of things.
